flugelhorns?

I’m a trumpet player, I experience a 1976 bach strad 37 bell. I lately thought, why don’t you obtain a flugelhorn just for fun? does anybody have suggestions on which to obtain, ideally under $1000, can one get my trumpet mouth pieces to operate about the flugelhorn?

You will probably find this funny, but like a french horn player who accustomed to take part in the mellophone a great deal (much like the flugelhorn) I discovered the very best solution ended up being to take my crappy spare horn mouthpiece, and wrap the pipe-finish from it with electrical tape to ensure that it easily fit in charge pipe from the mellophone. You might like to do this using the flugelhorn too, since a trumpet mouthpiece will probably unfit, and even when it did, the intonation could be poor.

The mellophone is incorporated in the key of F, but the flugelhorn is really as well. Try in france they horn mouthpiece, or contact any drum and bugle corps to discover a supplier of mouthpiece plugs. An alert about individuals plugs, it may be much harder to achieve the greater notes and never go flat than with my french-horn-mouthpiece-with- electrical-tape solution.
