What should I take next year: Trumpet or French Horn?
I’ve learned the trumpet for school for about 8 months.
The teacher recommended me to take French Horn next year.
Should I take french horn or trumpet?
I am currently in Beginner band (level 1) learning trumpet and in september, i’m going to be jumping to senior band (level 3). I don’t know how to play it and I’m willing to learn during the summer if i have to learn the French Horn
So, Trumpet for French Horn?
If you end up playing French Horn well you will be a important member of the band! People that can play it well are rare. College will throw $$ at good horn players, there is a lot less competition than trumpet. Give it a few months of your life, if it is too hard you can always go back to trumpet.
On the dark side, the horn parts are hardly ever the melody……
