taps bugle music

looking for a needle in a haystack?
In the 1960′s or so,there was an instrumental music record that I heard on my radio in Ireland..I was a young child at the time, and I have no idea who or what was the name of the song or the group.I guess it was American in origin. The main instrument was the trumpet (or bugle)which played one verse then a different verse, then repeated itself, each time more instruments were added as the record went on.My only clue is a recent tv show from the USA .On that I saw a navy mans cremated remains being given back to the sea,and there was a bugler playing a snippet of the music I’m looking for.I think that it may have been called Taps. This may be the commonly known name for the piece but I’m searching for the recorded version’s name.Sorry my info is so vague..I would love to revisit that part of my life again..
