Playing the trombone? (20 characters)?
I am a sophomore in high school. Right now, I play percussion in our freshman/sophomore band. I have put a lot of thought into this and I want to switch [back] to trombone. At my school, when you are a Junior, you get put into the Wind Ensemble, which is the best band in our district.
I started band when I was in 5th grade and played trombone until the end of 6th grade. When I was in 7th grade I switched to percussion and stayed there. I can learn and play instruments very quickly (so I’ve figured out), and I would like to switch to trombone next year, but still be able to play in the Wind Ensemble.
Do you think it’s possible to learn and get good at the trombone to do this? Could you give me advice to make this possible? Thanks!
You’ll definitely need time to develop your chops again. But if you were a good trombone player I see no reason why you couldn’t switch back quickly. Try one of your friends trombones and see how much you can still do.
If you want to talk more, please feel free to contact me through my site below.
