what type of trumpet should i get?
I have been playing the trumpet for about 3 and a half years and i am getting good at it. I just made it into the jazz band at my school and want to get a new trumpet because i have one thats like 5 years old. Ive been looking at yamaha trumpets but i dont really know what i need. I also am not sure what my budget is because i dont know how much a trumpet that i would need would cost
The Yamaha Zeno is a great horn, but pricey. They make semi-pro horns that are also good. You could go retro and try to find an old Martin horn from the 50s if you see yourself playing solos, but not lead. A Bach Stradavarius can be a good horn – doesn’t have to be new. Best to have a professional test the horn out first as not all Bachs come off the assembly line perfect these days. Try them out and get one that feels good and sounds good to you. Try to get one that has 1st and 3rd valve slides that you can adjust as you play.
